Original Pet Portrait oil painting

By Artist Andrew Schofield

Andrew

Andrew’s studio is located in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire overlooking beautiful farmland. His customers are both Local and UK wide. He has been painting pet portraits for commission for several years and is in the enviable position of having all his customers exceedingly satisfied. Not only are they satisfied with the finished paintings but the entire painting process. During the painting process you will be consulted with the design and layout and also be fully updated with photos of the painting as it develops.

Pet Portrait Cat

Andrew will capture the life and character of your much loved pet with a life like oil painting. Portraits are painted from photographs (usually provided by the customer but he will take photos for people who live locally)

Portraits are painted in a direct style, which gives life and character to the finished portrait. Any animal from dogs, cats, horses, rabbits to fish or reptiles can be painted(no subject too large or too small).

Andrew says "Painting pets is very rewarding, as they are very diverse and full of character. The wide range of colours, shapes, sizes and personalities make them a very challenging but rewarding subject to capture."

Photo Requirements

He can work from most photos (please look at the original photos on the gallery page to see examples) , but the better the photo the better the results. The best photos to use are taken at eye level to your pet (not stood above looking down). Also close up filling most of the frame (or closer i.e. a head shot). If the photo is good but does not quite show an important feature of your pet then include a note so that adjustments can be made. If in doubt send the photos and we can discuss them. Any photos sent will be carefully looked after and returned. If you are going to take pictures specially please look at my guide to photographing pets.

Testimonial

Got them today, they are AMAZING!! I cant say enough, there's so many shades showing through, hints of blue and purple in Mya's coat, reds in Kelly's, blues and silver almost in Chip's, you're incredibly talented, thank you so so much. Seriously, thank you, you've been great and I couldn't love the paintings any more :D
